Hot Pink Eyes and Braided Hair

So today I chose to do both a makeup look and a small hair tutorial. Both looks are very simple to do. I LOVE pink eye shadow and braids are just simply beautiful.

For the eyes:

First, apply three shades of pink on the eye lid. Put the lightest color towards the inner eye lid, and the darkest towards the outer corner. In the picture below you will get an idea for the colors i chose. The first is an extremely pail pink, the second is a bright hot pink, and the third is a slightly purple pink.

The next step is to add your choice of browns for the contouring. I used a a brown that had an extremely, slight coppery undertone. Highlighter for the brown bone should be a color you feel fits comfortably with the other shades.

Just add your eyeliner, color your brows (if you do at all), and add mascara. Then voila! your eyes are complete. Just finish the rest of your face as you see fit. Here is my complete look below.

For the hair:

This is a style i have been into lately. It is super quick and I have gotten a million compliments (not to mention my friends making do their hair like this too).

First, section of the hair you will use for the braid. Try your best to make the section equal on both sides. I like to stop the section right above my temple. Tie up the the rest of your hair to keep it out of the way.

Next, braid the hair as close to the scalp as you can. Be sure to pull towards the back of your head. Your hands have control of where the braid goes, so pulling back wile braiding will keep the braid from going forward or straight down. After all the hair close to your scalp pull back tighter to control the rest of the braid to go towards the back of your head. Do not secure the braid to your head just yet, but be sure to secure it loosely as shown below.

Next, in small sections, tease the hair on the top of your head. Then flip the hair back and smooth it out. Secure the braid to your scalp (make sure you hide it under a layer of teased hair). Give your hair a spritz of hair spray (or in my case freezing spray) to prevent any hair from shifting or revealing mangled hair in the tease.

And your finished! Try it out and see how many compliments you get!
